[Expert Views] Women in Tech: Unlocking Vietnam’s Innovation Potential

As artificial intelligence and digital transformation continue to reshape the global economy, the conversation around women in technology is no longer just about gender equality — it is increasingly about innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

In a recent interview with Vietnam Economic Times, the leadership of Women in Tech® Vietnam - Ms. Quyen Nguyen shared insights on the opportunities and challenges for women pursuing careers in the technology sector in Vietnam.

Today, women account for approximately 35% of the technology workforce in Vietnam, which is higher than the global average of around 30–32%. However, women remain underrepresented in leadership positions, particularly in senior technology and executive roles.

As AI and emerging technologies shape the future of work, diversity in technology development becomes increasingly important. Greater participation of women in tech helps reduce bias in technology design, encourages inclusive innovation, and contributes to building more balanced digital systems for society.

With this vision, Women in Tech® Vietnam continues to work toward building a stronger ecosystem that supports women in technology through initiatives focused on:

• Education and digital skills development
• Supporting women tech entrepreneurs
• Promoting inclusive leadership and workplace diversity
• Strengthening community networks and policy dialogue

Empowering women in technology is not only about creating equal opportunities — it is about unlocking Vietnam’s full innovation potential in the digital era.
